City Lines - Trash day Providence
City Lines - Trash day Providence
Original Watercolor 14X10 inches - Early morning sunlight on a side street in Providence, trash bins were all lined up along the street, everything very orderly. I loved the quality of the early morning light coming in between the houses and the reflected light in the shadows. This painting recently won the Watercolor Award in a juried show at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
The jurors said “It is clear that this artist is a skilled painter who understands color. The time of day and perspective are expertly conveyed and there is a masterful use of layering in this watercolor. The telephone poles feel almost tree-like, as if they are a natural part of the landscape.”
It was a surprise and a great honor to receive this award. This piece is framed in a hand made oak frame, made and framed by me. There is no sales tax on artwork in Rhode Island.
