A short post today as it was a travel day. Leaving Winnipeg we again pointed the car toward the western horizon on the Trans-Canada Highway. Once again we started off in the rain and in 45 degree weather.. I thought it was supposed to be summer! The land is long and the land is flat. We passed through small town after small town and even the larger towns seemed like small towns.
We crossed into Saskatchewan sometime around noon, and their information/welcome center was all closed up. The land got flatter. Highway speeds are now up to 110 kilometers per hour (about 68 mph) and the price of fuel is down to $.87 per liter. The little Subaru has been averaging about 32 mph on the highway and about 29 mph when we are off of the highway. I am impressed considering all the crap we have filled it with and the box on top. And thank fully the Canadian dollar is saving us some money too. Late afternoon We arrived in Regina and just kind of hung out. We had Chinese for supper and a lazy evening, on to Medicine Hat tomorrow.
