Not too much to report today, it was a travel day with a good stop in St Cloud, Minnesota for some shopping and an oil change. Then we went off to walk through the Munsinger Garden along the banks of the Mississippi River. The Mississippi isn’t the river we remembered from our cruising days, up here it is a much smaller and very slow moving river.
The flowers are a treat for just about any photographer and Carol was pointing out all the different kinds, and I even correctly identified a Zinnia. . . From St Cloud we took route 10 down to St Paul, a busy route and with some construction thrown in for good measure. With the traffic and traffic lights this was quite different from the long straights open highways of North Dakota.
We checked into our hotel and sought out the local pub, tasted their handcrafted brews and even tried poutine - something we saw on every menu in Canada but never tried. We thought what the heck. Poutine is French fries, cheese curd and beef gravy with a few onions thrown in for good measure. It was delicious, likely not recommended by any doctor, but delicious. It was also so filling, coupled with the beer the neither of us could finish our supper. . . tomorrow is another day.
